Question:

I have read all of the messages to get work
odbctest with postgresql driver. But It returns
SQL_NO_DATA_FOUND. I would be very appreciated
if anyone can show me a working odbc.ini for
PostgreSQL + iODBC.
I need at least one working example ( and its settings )
because I am using wxWindows which uses iodbc.
Thx a lot.

I m successfully connecting to postgreSQL through
either unixODBC or postgreSQL type 4 driver(org.postgresql.Driver). Let's me
if you need help

: First of all thx for the help.
: If you succeed connecting PostgreSQL server and retrieve
: data from the server with iodbc using any Free ODBC Driver
: which can be both unixODBC's postgresql driver or PostgreSQL's
: own odbc driver. Please let me know.
: Sincerely yours.

: : Hello Baris,
: : I see that you are not using Openlink drivers. I was hoping that the information which I posted earlier would enable you to create a trace. If this method does not work, I will try and determine a new method which will enable you to trace. Basically, it looks like the iODBC driver manager is allowing your Postgres driver to connect to Postgres. However, something appears to go wrong after the connection. A clientside odbc trace will verify this, and pinpoint the source of the problem.
: : Note: In principle, the driver manager should be able to call any driver manager which you would like to use.

: : : Hello Again,
: : : I am using PostgreSQL's odbc driver not OpenLink's
: : : UDBC is releated with ODBC ? I mean will I succeed
: : : using PostgreSQL' s own ODBC driver with iODBC ?
: : : I succeed connecting via unixODBC. Btw can I use unixODBC's postgrSQL driver with iODBC ?
: : : Thanks for help.
: : : : Hello Baris,
: : : : This may or may not be a problem with your odbc.ini file. Typically, odbc.ini problems prohibit connections. However, it appears that you can connect, but you cannot retrieve data. In this instance, you may also want to post a clientside ODBC trace, just to be certain. Please try this:
: : : : A. Descend into your client's ~/openlink/bin directory.
: : : : B. "vi" odbc.ini.
: : : : C. Append the following entry toward the top of the file:
: : : : [UDBC]
: : : : DebugFile=/absolute/path/to/some/odbctrace.log
: : : : D. Recreate the error message.
: : : : E. Post the results.
: : : : Additionally, you may want to try Openlink software's Postgres drivers. If you are interested, you may download them from the following address:
: : : : http://www.openlinksw.com/main/softdld2.htm
: : : : They come with a free, 2 client connection license, and they are fairly easy to debug.
