말 그대로 pg_hba.conf 파일이 없는 것 아닌가요.확인해 보시기 바랍니다. 만약 해당 파일이 있다면

export PGHOME=/usr/local/pgsql

export PGDATA=/usr/local/pgsql/data

이런식으로 디렉토리 지정을 해 주시기 바랍니다.

물론 실행파일 경로를 PATH 에 등록은 시켜 두었겠지요.
